Pingyao International Photography Festival, Pingyao, China. September, 2004. The "Old is New Again" exhibit (below) was asked to be part of the alternative photography component of this major photo festival. After the festival ended, our prints were selected for inclusion in a travelling tour, and were put on display in several universities, as well as in the Forbidden City in Beijing! Mine came home to me in a hand-made wooden crate painted a light sea green, with Chinese calligraphic markings on the side, with a silk scroll commemorating my participation.

Ghana: Two weeks, nine students, many cameras. Institute for Documentary Studies, Durham, NC. October-November, 1998. This exhibit was the culmination of a year-long project with my seventh grade social studies students. We learned about Africa in the classroom and after school for a whole school year, did every kind of fundraiser we could think of, and travelled to Ghana, West Africa, for a two-week study tour. Upon returning, the Institute for Documentary Studies hosted an exhibit of the students' work, which I curated and to which I contributed photographs of the students interacting.
